At night
in thunderstorms
in the balcony full of potted Philodendrons
pregnant and big
she shudders
cowers
sobs
and bleeds.
At other times
you could hear her scream
but that’s only
Tinnitus in her ears
you know, that noise within.
Last night
I heard her again
when I pressed my ear to the wall
she doesn’t wish for death, she said,
and likes to go for walks.
She also likes the colours pink and white
Walt Whitman
and Snickers Bar.

A woman's craving for chocolates! and even in days that are sad and murky ... you can bring out quite a bit. Glad that you're such a romantic!!
Wow! This was fabulous!
I can almost imagine her.
Walt Whitman and Snickers Bars.
Black holes and revelations.
superb .. how wonderfully you knit the words !!
she doesnt wish 4 death n likes to take long walks ..
must always excuse big and preggers for their excesses.
Even the title of your post is exquisite.
By the way, congratulations: you are a calendar winner!
I have gone through your all posts - right from your sketches to ur poems to ur ramblings..and I have to say that I love them all. Loved ur blog

Deep thoughts went into this little post...Very well woven words. Loved it!
First time here..Will come back to scan through! Thanks for dropping by my space in bloggersville. :)
wow. that was awesome! she doesn't wish for death...that line in particular grabbed me. superb.
This one I love.
i might be totally wrong here, but i sense a deep sense of pain behind this poem. the girl in the poem fights for life even when the world seems to have given up on her. She wants to hold on to the happiness and live every moment..
she feels like a hero to me.
PS: thanx a ton for the kind words at my blog. i am blogrolling you :)
Holding onto some sanity by going back to the things that one enjoy doing.. Don't we all do it sometimes :)
Beautifully worded :)
What a perfect poem, LOVE your imagery!!!
Wonderful poem! I too sense a deeper pain.
. you can bring out quite a bit. Glad that you're such a romantic!!
